About Me

Ruben
The Gypsy
Hello everyone,
My name is Ruben Dawagne, but my friends actually call me "The Gypsy". I'm from Namur, the capital of French speaking Belgium. It is very green and divided in its center by a beautiful river called the "Sambre". On the heights of the city stands a great citadel.
My wife, Keilani, and I got married a little more than 3 years ago in my little part of Europe. Two years later, the Lord prompted us to move to her homeland (Mexico) where we live now and where I teach ESL and French in High School. Together, we have a two year old boy (Priam) and a baby girl (Hadaya).
BYU-I studies aren’t easy, but I found that having a Christ centered university makes all the difference for me. The courses are inspired, the teachers and the classmates too. That's what I love about BYU-Idaho.
I saw code for the first time a year and a half ago. My wife's cousin visited us from Utah and showed me what he was doing in his programming class. I was fascinated! I learned more and more about coding with him and soon decided I wanted to study it. I finished Pathway and I am now determined to have my BS in Applied Technology. My clusters are Computer Programming, Web Frontend and Web Backend.
My goal for college is to develop the necessary skills in order to make a change in people's lives using software and apps.
